This is a quick and easy sewing project! I'm from Southern California so I get cold easily. My fingers are always cold during the winter so I decided to make myself a little hand warmer.
Instructions after the jump!
What you'll need:
- Two pieces of fabric (5"x5"). Really it can be pretty much any size, but this is the size I decided to use.
- Enough uncooked rice to fill up the warmer at least 2/3 full.
- A sewing machine
- Thread and a needle
- Herbs for a scent such as lavender (optional)
- Place the two squares of fabric on top of each other making sure the two printed sides are facing each other. Sew the two pieces of fabric together with 1/4 inch allowance. Make sure to leave an opening about 1.5" wide on one side.
- Invert the two pieces so you get a little pouch.
- Fill the pouch with rice at least 2/3 of the way full.
- Add herbs if you want!
- Sew up the remaining hole tightly as to make sure not to allow any rice to fall out during use.
- Microwave for up to 20 seconds and warm up your hands!
